Computer is an essential component of any organization now. An interconnection of two or more computers using a communication media is known as computer network. There exist many methods of networking such as Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) etc. For any network, a network server is an essential element. A network server is a powerful personal computer to which many personal computers and peripheral devices such as scanners and printers are connected. The network server acts like a central unit for storage of data and programs. Network server permits sharing of these data and programs to various personal computers connected to it. Network server allows all users connected to it to use printers, computers, files etc. that are shared. The data and programs which are frequently accessed and used can be stored in network server which avoids the duplication of data and software.
